First out-of-Chicago Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria opens today
Famous deep dish pizza to match exact Chicago taste in the heart of Phoenix
Phoenix, Ariz. (May 16, 2016) – At 4 p.m. today, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria officially opens the doors to its first out-of-Chicago pizzeria.
And it’s not a moment too soon for the company’s deep dish pizza-loving faithful, who have been waiting for this day since it was first announced nearly ten months ago that a Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria would be opening in Phoenix.
The new restaurant is located at 100 E. Camelback Rd., Suite 152, in the Uptown Plaza Shopping Center at the intersection of Central Ave. and Camelback Road.
“It is a historic day for the Lou Malnati’s organization,” says Marc Malnati, owner of Lou Malnati’s. “We are thrilled with the reception we’ve received for bringing our authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza to Arizona. The team in Phoenix and our entire organization is committed to bringing the same level of quality, atmosphere and hospitality that we are known for in Chicago.”
Malnati and company management selected Phoenix as its first out-of-Chicago location because of the strong Chicago ex-pat presence and Phoenix was a top ship-to location for the Lou Malnati’s mail order division, Tastes of Chicago.
The company has big plans for the Valley; Malnati predicts opening an additional eight to ten locations.
The restaurant is initially open for dinner only, with doors opening at 4 p.m. daily. Lou Malnati’s Phoenix will open for lunch starting June 1, 2016, and at that time, the permanent hours will be:
Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – midnight
The new location has approximately 6,800 square feet of inside space and 1,500 square feet of outdoor patio space. Carry-out, delivery and catering services are available.
Lou Malnati’s Phoenix hired more than 170 local employees.
