Waffle Love, Food Truck

Waffle Love is a new food truck in the Valley that I have been so excited to try! Since my injury has me on bed rest, my best food friend came through with a post for me! Tough work I am sure!! But I am very grateful to at least get a post up about them and welcome them to the AZ food truck scene!

With my friend Steph on the bench with a pinched nerve, I thought maybe I would step up with a substitute post. Going to the Waffle Love truck, solo, probably isn’t offering her much comfort. It was close to my house, I love waffles, somebody had to do it, so I did.
I first heard of the truck from Steph who was planning on driving 130 miles round trip to attend the Waffle Love Grand Opening early in January. That’s a sweet drive from Surprise to Gilbert! She was unfortunately unable to attend and I’ve been looking forward to going to Waffle Love ever since.

Good Read! Gilbert Daily Press

I’ve been a fan of waffles my whole life. I own a professional grade waffle maker and make a legit Belgian Waffle. The Chicken and Waffles combo that’s become more popular over the last decade is great news. Now…Waffle Trucks. It doesn’t get much better than that. Downtown Gilbert is even getting a LoLo’s sometime this year.

Another good read! East Valley Tribune

Waffle Love makes what is called a Liege Waffle. A little more dessert like than breakfast like. The key to this waffle is the caramelized crust that happens with Belgian Pearl Sugar, and I’m sure a really cool waffle iron. The outside is crunchy and sweet and the inside is yeasty and buttery. Can something be rich and light at the same time? Truly delicious in itself. BUT THEN…. It gets better!!! You can add any combo of the following. Nutella spread, strawberries, raspberries, bananas, really fresh whipped cream that’s not out of a can, and a new discovery for me, Biscoff. Rarely do I have something I have never tried before but for the first time ever I tried Biscoff. It’s basically a cookie spread that’s buttery and sweet with little Biscoff cookie crumbs throughout the spread. It’s really intriguing and truly delicious. I would highly recommend the Biscoff with whatever fruit and whipped cream when you go to Waffle Love.
The Waffle Love experience was EXCELLENT and anything you order will be great. Hot and crunchy. Soft and sweet – but not too sweet. Rich and buttery while still being light and yeasty. If you get it with Nutella or Biscoff, a fruit and whipped cream, it’s pretty hard to beat. It’s worth driving to from anywhere or look for them on their social media sites and hope they come your way.

We saw it at the Agritopia Farmer’s Market this week, but didn’t get a chance to actually try it (didn’t want to share with the kids) I can’t wait to try it the next time I see it 🙂

That sounds so good! I ate Nutella on fresh bread nearly every day I was in Germany, but never thought to try it on waffles!

My good friend went to Paris after High School and I was so excited to hear all the good food she ate, I found she pretty much lived on Fresh Bread and Nutella. 🙂

I don’t know what it is about a waffle that just makes the meal exciting? 🙂
