There is a hidden gem in Northern Phoenix on 2602 W. Deer Valley Rd, called Times Square Neighborhood Italian Restaurant. It is one of those places that when you first approach it you think, “Is this the right place?” but in this case I guarantee you do not want to judge a book by it’s cover. It is fairly small inside with a muted Italian dinner decor. We have been bringing the kids here for a long time and the waitresses are usually the same and greet many of the guest by name. They are very friendly and can be helpful with menu suggestions. The kids always get calamari so that is where we start, lightly breaded and tender it is a family favorite. I love everything I have ever tried here, but one of my favorites is the antipasto salad. This trip I ordered the wings and garlic bread because I was in the mood for something spicy. The boys ordered Spaghetti and a Calzone, my daughter got the Fettuccine Alfredo with scallops and my husband ordered Fettuccine Baronessa, needless to say everyone was happy and we ended up taking quite a bit of food home. I cannot rave about this place enough, the food is fantastic, certainly better than any chain in town, and the service is great. The kids have always been welcome and the whole place is full of locals and families. If you happen to be in the area of I-17 and Deer Valley stop by and check it out. It is on the West side of the freeway and the North side of Deer Valley.
