Have you been to Ruffino Italian Cusine? I was invited by them to come out for dinner, and I would love to share with you my experience. It is located where Phoenix, Chandler and Ahwatukee meet at 4902 E Warner Road, on the North side of Warner and conveniently right off the I-10.
Ruffino is in a strip mall but don’t let that fool you. The minute you walk through the door the smells and ambiance greet you and let you know you made a good choice. Right from the start the staff was friendly and warm, and the restaurant itself is comfortable and even though it has a fine dining feel to it, I would be comfortable bringing the kids. The front bar area has a little stage where they were playing live music and the dimly lit tables made for an excellent “Date Night” experience. I ordered the Espresso Martini and my husband ordered a glass of Pasorina Moscato, both were excellent. We started with the Bruscheta and Crostini which was a large portion for an appetizer, and full of great flavor. For dinner I ordered the Fillet and Lobster and my husband ordered the Broiled Scallops. Mine came with a Caesar salad and his came with a Tortellini In Brodo, both good. To be honest I ordered my meal for the Fillet, I do not always like Lobster, sometimes the flavor is just not want I wanted, and I take one bite and give the rest to my husband. But this time he did not even get a taste, it was exactly how I like lobster to taste. The fillet was nice and tender and between that and the basket of garlic bread served on the side I was super happy with my meal. My husband also loved the scallops and the rice and veggies served with them.
Then dessert, really we were pretty stuffed but it was date night and we wanted to go ALL OUT! So I decided on the Creme Brulee and my husband ordered the Gluten Free Cake, my sister recently found out she was gluten intolerant so we wanted to try it for her first. Both were wonderful and an excellent ending to a great date night. I would love to go back, sit at the bar, listen to the live music and order several appetizers and drinks with my sisters. The service was pretty exceptional, I like to watch other tables and listen to interactions between customers and the wait staff and I was impressed with the attention each table received, whether new or a returning customer customers felt comfortable and asked questions and received great service.
After reviewing the Facebook Page, I noticed some fun specials. I also noticed on the Ruffino Website that they have a complimentary shuttle service, which if we lived in that area, I would take advantage of for sure! Check it out under General Info. They also have a Fan Club where you can sign up and get info about their specials.
For us it was 47 miles one way and as I always like to let my readers know, YES it was worth the drive. We had a great time and a great meal and we are glad we went.
I included pictures but I have to admit they do not do the food justice. The dimly lit dining area was great for our date, not so hot for photos! But they have been around for over 20 years, and they have the flavors down right, so check it out for yourself!
