If you have not noticed, I love edible shots! I actually like shots of all kind. Flaming, Jello, Frozen, Edible =All good. My newest adventure in edible shots is Moonshine Cherry Fudge. You may remember the post I did with Moonshine Cherry Cheesecake Bombs! Those are also awesome and it would be fun to do both. Both are pretty easy. The thing about Moonshine Cherries or any fruit soaked in moonshine, they pack a boozy punch. By adding the fudge or the cheesecake you get a nice pop of deliciously sweet flavor to go along with the little sting.
I did not want to complicate it too much so I just went with the easy Nestle box kit. I got it on sale for $3.99. It only takes a few minutes to put the fudge together and then 2 hours in the fridge. You can make up to 24 Moonshine Cherry Fudge bites. Maybe more if you set them in a little closer. I prefer Ole Smokey Moonshine. There are several brands and if you want you could soak cherries in vodka for a similar effect.
Like I said I used the kit to make the fudge but if you were feeling more adventurous there are several bloggers posting awesome fudge recipes around this time of year. Around My Family Table has a round up of 50 Fabulous Fudge Recipes. I might try this with #20 Black Gold Fudge.
After you pour the fudge into the 8×8 pan push your (drained) cherries into the fudge. Do this before letting it sit in the fridge for two hours. Leave a little room in between each cherry. You are going to want a decent amount of fudge around the cherry while still making them bite sized. When cutting keep the extra bits of fudge for garnish when serving. I would serve the Moonshine Cherry Fudge bites along with a little plate of fudge bits and a little plate of Moonshine Cherries. No one wants to see fudge go to waste.
I thought it would be fun to serve Moonshine Cherry Fudge Double Shots. A shot glass with the Cherry Moonshine, topped with a Moonshine Cherry Fudge bite. This would be for the more daring folks!

You could even cut the bites into fun shapes for various holiday or party themes.
I am looking forward to having these fun edible shots at my next few parties. What do you do to make a party unique?
