#FoodNerd & Boozy Butterbeer

Before I get too deep into talking about what has been going on and what is soon to come I want to discuss this Boozy Butterbeer! A few years ago I went to Orlando to the Harry Potter experience and I had to try the Butterbeer. I liked it but it did not seem like something I would try again. Even in the beginning of December when I was preparing for a party I intended to make them but not have more than one. The problem is that I got hooked! The good news is this Ice Cold Boozy Butterbeer was a party hit!

I posted the recipe below which is the one I ended up making several times over winter break. I had scoured the internet looking for recipe ideas, I even checked out one from my good friend Dominick Costa. All were good ideas, but I ended up going with what I remembered it tasting like in Orlando. I also opted for easy. I do that a lot.

Now on to what has been going on at CCtoMB! I really had to downshift and take it slow over the holidays and new year. I only did a few posts and did attend some great Social Media events. But for the most part I relaxed and spent time with this kids. I did some cooking but not nearly as much as I usually do this time of year. I am always torn, I want to do more but it’s also kind of nice if I can relax. My sister had a baby the Sunday after Christmas and that was super exciting.

What is all this #FoodNerd business about? About a year or more ago I started using the Hashtag #FoodNerd in a lot of my Social Media posts. I went on to explain my food nerdiness in a post. I would even come across other self proclaimed food nerds from time to time and follow them strictly for that reason. The internet and specifically Twitter is a great place to meet fellow nerds of all kinds. Sometime in 2014 I met the folks over at Total Nerd Takeover. Well actually I stumbled upon their podcast and liked it so much I quickly followed them across all channels. One day on Twitter I saw an opportunity for them to find more like minded followers so I mentioned it. One chat led to another and another and now we chat quite often. They interviewed me for their Podcast, Episode 53 Free on itunes. Check it out! We have decided to partner up a more in 2015 and I could not be more thrilled! They are a fun group of people. You can also catch them on Twitter and Facebook.

I feel like I have so much more to talk about! I need to not wait this long for a personal post. While I do want to talk about Phoenix Fanfest (Mini Comicon) I guess I should wrap this up and do it in another post. This is getting a bit long winded.

I hope you give the Boozy Butterbeer a try! Have you ever made a cocktail you just kept wanting to drink? I need to forget about this one for a little while. It’s just too good!

Boozy Butterbeer
2 Cups Cream Soda

1.5 oz Butterscotch Schnapps

1.5 oz Vanilla Vodka

1.5 oz Whipped Cream Vodka

Stir and Serve wicked cold with topping!

1- 7 oz Container of Marshmallow Whip

1- 9 oz Tub of whipped cream

Use Beater or stand mixer to mix together very well. Place a top well chilled cocktail.
