Food Truck Caravan

I was invited to head out Saturday night and check out the Food Truck Caravan in Scottsdale. They were having a special guest, The FS Taste Truck by Four Seasons. This was very exciting and clearly a hit, but also there were a few of my favorite food trucks there and some others I have not yet tried, so I was more than happy to show up. You can keep up with the food trucks that will be at 5th Ave. & Goldwater every Saturday night and 5th Ave & Marshall every Thursday night by following Food Truck Caravan on Facebook.

Many cities now have food trucks coordinating on Facebook and Twitter to announce their locations and meeting up in groups, which makes it convenient if you are like me and like to try several at once. When I very first started “stalking” food trucks, Hey Joe was my favorite and my best food friend would track it down for an easy lunch stop when able. We were both happy when they started arriving regularly at Food Truck Friday, another favorite weekly food truck event. If you have not gone out to try food trucks in Phoenix, Tucson or the surrounding areas, or even in your own town, I suggest you search these trucks out on Facebook, do a little Google research and see what you can find near you. The people who work the trucks are so nice and so hard working, I appreciate everything they do to bring good food to us, I know it has to be incredibly challenging.

This Past Saturday night at The Food Truck Caravan:
Between the six of us who went, we got food from The Grilled Cheese Truck, Hey Joe!, Udder Delights, Frank Food Truck, and the FSTasteTruck, before we physically could not eat another bite!! All the food was fantastic!! As for the event, we loved it, the weather was perfect, everything was beautifully lit up like an intimate dinner, they had belly dancers and live music. People rode their bikes and brought their dogs and it was just a lot of fun. My kids had a blast, and I wonder if they are unique in the fact that they too enjoy the fun of trying different trucks, but there were other kids there, so maybe not.
So again this was about a 45 mile drive one way from my house, was it worth the drive? Yes, it was so worth the drive. I imagine I will make it again soon as we have guests coming into town. This would be a great place to take a large group of people with various tastes in food.
A special thanks to Lori for the invite!

Enjoy the photos!

It was pretty good, and they had so many choices! I got a spicy one. Plus they have tomato soup. Thanks for the visit!

Food trucks are such a fun experience. I go to a pretty big church and every Saturday night during the summer we have food trucks on the lawn after the night service. That lobster mac n cheese looks amazing! I didn’t see that this past summer. Stopping by from the DBB.

Looks like a fun event! We don’t have food trucks here in town on a regular basis, but occasionally Food Truck Wars come to town and that’s a big deal and a lot of fun! Lots of trucks from all over the state participate and travel around. They compete for different prizes during the event. The hubs and I checked it out recently – it sure drew a large crowd and everyone had a blast. What is it about food from a truck? haha Thanks for sharing 🙂

It is funny how large crowds gather for them! I think for me and my family it is cool to get everyone what they like, and more delicious than a food court for sure! Maybe a little nostalgia there from when the ice cream man would come around? Thanks for the comment!

Our church always has food trucks at large events. I’ve had 3 very yummy dishes. One is from a garlic themed truck. Fries with a garlicky feta sauce on top, to die for!!! Next is “piggy mac” from a pulled pork truck. They pile it over baked mac and cheese. And last, if done right, the bacon truck has deep fried brownie bites topped with hot fudge and crispy bacon.

Food trucks are so much fun! We went to a food truck festival once and it was utter chaos. My husband tries different ones from time to time for lunch- he’s lucky he works in Boston!

They can get really crazy at times, especially the festivals. Thanks for the visit!

How fun! I love food trucks but there aren’t any close to me so it’s not often I get to try them. The food you had looks delicious!

Thanks for stopping by! I know it is a bit of a drive for us too, so when we get out there we make it count! 🙂
